YenoMason: From Lessons Learned to a Stronger Comeback

Life as an independent artist is rarely straightforward. For Mason Colton, better known as YenoMason, the journey has been as much about self-discovery as it has been about music.
After finding early success with projects like Drought and Homegrown Roots, Mason faced the harsh realities of sustaining momentum as an indie rapper in Atlanta. “The industry can make you feel like you’re sprinting in circles,” Mason explains. “You put your heart into the music, but without structure, it can all collapse.”
That collapse forced Mason to re-evaluate everything: his sound, his brand, even his personal direction. In the process, he realized that the earlier version of himself wasn’t the one he wanted the world to know. “I was chasing validation instead of building a legacy,” Mason admits.
The rebrand of YenoMason was born not just from necessity, but from intention. Mason rebuilt his workflow, upgraded his studio from scratch, and began developing a more authentic sound rooted in his own struggles, ambitions, and entrepreneurial spirit.
What makes the rebrand powerful is the honesty behind it. Mason openly addresses his setbacks, family challenges, and the weight of being a single father while pursuing a demanding career. Instead of running from those narratives, he leans into them, making them the heartbeat of his music.
Today, YenoMason isn’t just recording songs — he’s curating an experience. His upcoming Got Smoke EP marks the beginning of a new era, one where every track represents both the pain and progress that shaped him.
“The rebrand is more than music. It’s about showing people that it’s never too late to build again. You can fall and still come back sharper, stronger, and more focused than ever.”
